I know what it takes to perform at the highest level because I've lived it. As a 4-year NCAA college baseball player, I understand the grind from a player's perspective. Now, as a Minor League Sport Performance Coach with the A's, I apply professional-level training methodology to help high school and college baseball athletes unlock their full potential.

My background includes experience at Cressey Sports Performance, one of the most respected baseball training facilities in the world, and Boston College, where I worked with Baseball and Softball. I also served as a Graduate Assistant at USC Upstate, coaching Golf, Soccer, and Baseball. I'm completing my Master's in Exercise and Sport Science in December 2026, bringing evidence-based training to everything I build.

I played college baseball as an outfielder and designated hitter at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. I got there because I was strong — but once I arrived, strong wasn't enough. I was slow, not explosive, and didn't understand how to train for the demands of the game. That experience is a big part of why Hochrine Performance exists. Getting strong got me to college. Not knowing how to train beyond that kept me from going further. That's the gap I'm here to close.

High School Baseball Athletes
8 Week Intro to Strength Training
An 8-week program built for the baseball athlete who is serious about developing a foundation in the weight room. This program introduces the fundamental movement patterns of strength and power training — teaching you how to move well, load properly, and build the physical base that every level of baseball demands. Strength and power are trained together from week one, so you are not just getting stronger — you are developing the athleticism that carries over to the field.

A gym membership is highly recommended to complete this program. Not all gyms are built the same, and some equipment may not be available at every facility. To follow the program as designed, access to the following is recommended:

Barbells & weight plates · Dumbbells · Trap bar · Cable machine · Physio ball · Medicine balls (6+ lbs) · Loop bands · Mini bands · Plyo boxes · Kettlebells · A solid wall for medicine ball work
  • 8-week PDF program
  • Dedicated warm-up
  • Foundational strength training
  • Power & rate of force development
  • Core stability & anti-rotation
  • Mobility & movement quality

Frequently Asked Questions

After booking a call, Riley will reach out within 24 hours to get things started. Your program is built and delivered through Trainerize — a free app for the athlete — with a video for every exercise so you know exactly what you're doing and how to do it. You can log your weights directly in the app and follow the program day by day. Programs are built 4 weeks at a time but can be adjusted day by day if something comes up. You'll also get Riley's personal number, so you can text questions, send lifting videos for technique feedback, or reach out whenever you need.

YouTube workouts are built for everyone, which means they're built for no one. That's the difference between a generic program and one that actually carries over to the field.
For the 8 Week Intro to Strength Training, you'll receive the program directly to your email immediately after purchase. For 1-on-1 Remote Training, Riley will be in contact within 24 hours to set up a phone call and get things started.
It's not something we'd typically advise, but for younger athletes it's very manageable as long as recovery is a priority — eating enough, staying hydrated, and getting quality sleep. If you want a program that's truly built around your in-season schedule and workload, 1-on-1 Remote Training is the best way to go.
It depends on where they are in their rehab timeline and whether they've been cleared by their medical team. Every situation is different. The best thing to do is reach out through the contact section and we can figure out what makes sense from there.
For the 8 Week Intro to Strength Training, yes — one payment, no subscriptions, no contracts, no commitment beyond that. You pay once and the program is yours. For 1-on-1 Remote Training, the first 3 months are billed upfront, then monthly after that. No fees, no contracts — 1 week before the program ends, if you want to keep going, payment is due so the next week is ready to go on time. If you're done, you're done. Simple as that.
Don't let cost be the only thing standing between you and getting better. If you're genuinely interested in 1-on-1 Remote Training but the price is a barrier, reach out and explain your situation. We'll go from there.
